New Delhi, February 6 A new Western Disturbance is set to impact weather conditions from February 8, bringing rainfall and snowfall across the Western Himalayan region. The INDIA Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted significant weather changes over the next few days, particularly affecting Northwest India, Maharashtra, and parts of Central and Eastern India.

Heavy Rainfall and Snowfall Expected in the Himalayas

A fresh Western Disturbance will arrive on February 8, affecting Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.
Rain and snowfall are expected from February 8 to 12, disrupting travel and daily life in these regions.
Dense fog was observed in the past 24 hours in Himachal Pradesh, Western Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Meghalaya, while frost conditions prevailed in parts of Uttarakhand.

Rainfall Predictions for Eastern & Northeastern India

Arunachal Pradesh and Assam will experience rainfall on February 6 and 7.
The weather system will then shift, impacting parts of Eastern India over the next few days.

Northwest India and Maharashtra Weather Shift

Significant changes are expected in Northwest India and Maharashtra within the next 24 hours.
Minimum temperatures will increase by 3°C, bringing temporary relief from the cold wave.
In Central India, minimum temperatures are expected to drop by 2-3°C over the next three days.

Temperature Fluctuations in Different Regions

Eastern India will witness a 3-5°C drop in minimum temperatures over the next two days.
In contrast, Gujarat is expected to see a rise of 3°C in minimum temperatures.
Dense fog is likely to persist in Himachal Pradesh and Odisha until February 8.

Cold Wave Continues in Rajasthan

Despite a slight rise in daytime temperatures, Rajasthan remains in the grip of severe cold conditions.

Coldest Location: Fatehpur (Sikar) recorded 2.8°C, the lowest in the state.
Other Chilling Temperatures:
- Sikar: 3.5°C
- Nagaur & Lunkaransar: 3.8°C
- Karauli: 4.4°C
- Dausa: 5.1°C
- Sangaria: 5.2°C
Several parts of the state recorded minimum temperatures below 10°C.
Jaipur: Maximum temperature 24.9°C, Minimum 10.4°C.

Cold wave conditions will persist in Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh until February 6.
Travelers to Himalayan regions should be prepared for snowfall-related disruptions.
