Anantnag, April 19 Following heavy overnight snowfall, the Sinthan Top section of National Highway 244, connecting Anantnag to Kishtwar, has been closed for vehicular traffic today and tomorrow. Authorities have suspended movement along the route citing safety concerns due to inclement weather conditions.

Traffic Halted Amid Weather Alert
Officials confirmed that the Sinthan Pass experienced fresh snowfall throughout the night, prompting the closure of the Anantnag–Sinthan–Kishtwar highway. The INDIA Meteorological Department (IMD) has also forecasted continued adverse weather, reinforcing the decision to restrict access for the safety of commuters.
Road to Reopen Based on Weather Conditions
Authorities stated that vehicular movement will resume only after the weather improves and road conditions are deemed safe for travel. Local residents and travelers are advised to follow updates from the traffic police and administration before planning their routes.
