Empowering Aspirants Through Infrastructure and Opportunity
NEW DELHI — In a significant move aimed at supporting young women pursuing careers in civil services, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Monday jointly inaugurated the Sankalp Girls Hostel at Sankalp Bhawan in Dhirpur, located within the Adarsh Nagar Assembly constituency.
Speaking at the event, CM Gupta underscored the transformative role of education in national development. “Education is the most important ladder for the progress of the country,” she said. “With the launch of this hostel, daughters from across the nation can now find a safe, dedicated space to stay and prepare for the civil services exams. This facility is a significant step in empowering women and making equal opportunity a reality.”

The facility is expected to accommodate a large number of aspirants, providing them with housing, study spaces, and access to key preparatory resources—an initiative that could be a game-changer for young women from underprivileged and remote backgrounds.
CM Flags Off 1,111 GPS-Enabled Water Tankers
In a separate event earlier this week, CM Gupta flagged off 1,111 GPS-enabled water tankers under the Delhi Jal Board initiative, aimed at tackling water distribution inefficiencies in the capital.
Addressing the media, Gupta criticized the previous Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) administration, accusing it of fostering systemic corruption under what she referred to as the “tanker mafia.” According to her, the old system lacked transparency and accountability, with no way to track where water was being distributed.
“In the previous government, there was a leakage in the entire system. Water meant for the people was diverted, and no one knew where it went,” Gupta stated. “Today, we are dispatching 1,111 tankers, all equipped with GPS tracking. Citizens can now monitor tanker locations through the tanker app. This is a major step toward transparency and service delivery.”
Delhi’s New Governance Model Focuses on Accessibility and Accountability
Both initiatives—educational empowerment and water management—reflect the current administration’s focus on infrastructure-driven development and citizen-centric governance. While the Sankalp Girls Hostel provides a new gateway for educational success, the GPS-enabled water tankers aim to restore faith in public service systems.
The CM reaffirmed her government’s commitment to inclusive progress and transparency, emphasizing that these steps mark just the beginning of a larger vision to transform Delhi’s social and civic infrastructure.
