
Guwahati, February 28: Assam BJP President and Lok Sabha MP Dilip Saikia announced on Friday that the party will unveil its list of candidates for the assembly elections after the Holi festival (Dol Utsav).
Speaking to reporters in Nalbari, Saikia stated that the party is finalizing its strategy and will announce the candidates at an appropriate time.
He mentioned, “The BJP’s list of candidates will be released in phases after Dol Utsav.”
Saikia emphasized that familiar and trusted faces will be prioritized in the candidate selection process.
He clarified, “Candidates who are already recognized and familiar to the public will be given preference in the electoral list,” indicating that continuity and grassroots connections will be crucial in ticket distribution.
Dilip Saikia was in Nalbari to inaugurate the BJP office for the North Nalbari Mandal, which is part of the party’s efforts to strengthen its organizational structure ahead of the elections.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by several BJP leaders and workers, including Nalbari MLA and Assam Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah.
Addressing the party workers and leaders, Saikia stressed the importance of organizational unity, booth-level preparations, and continuous engagement with the public.
He expressed confidence in the party’s performance, citing the governance and development initiatives undertaken at both the central and state levels.
Saikia highlighted that the party is focused on connecting directly with the public and fulfilling local aspirations.
The state BJP president urged workers to intensify efforts to effectively communicate the government’s achievements to the public.
He noted that a disciplined organization and coordination will play a vital role in the party’s electoral success.
The BJP has been actively working to strengthen its organizational network in Assam, with senior leaders visiting districts to inaugurate party offices.
