
Hobart, March 1: Australia triumphed over the Indian women’s Cricket team by 185 runs in the third ODI match. This game, held at the Bellerive Cricket Stadium, marked the final appearance of Alyssa Healy in One Day Internationals. Following the emphatic victory, Healy expressed that there could be no better farewell than in the yellow jersey.
Healy stated after the match that concluding her ODI career with a win and a memorable innings was a proud and special moment for her. She reflected on the emotional challenges of recent matches but emphasized that today she was simply able to enjoy the game.
Chasing a daunting target of 410 runs set by Australia, the Indian team was bowled out for 224 runs. Healy remarked, “I truly feel proud of how we ended the ODI series. We are now looking forward to playing with the pink ball at WACA.”
Healy acknowledged that such significant matches have always been emotionally challenging for her. She added, “I just feel that we play such a strange game that it brings you down at times but also offers opportunities like today. I have always disliked milestone matches, so I wanted to go out there and just enjoy it. This has been one of my most enjoyable experiences, and I thank God for that. It’s a great way to say goodbye in the yellow jersey.”
Throughout her ODI career, Healy played a total of 126 matches, scoring 3,777 runs at an average of 37, including 8 centuries and 19 half-centuries. She mentioned that playing with this team has always been a special experience.
In the third ODI, Healy’s performance with the bat was outstanding. She scored a powerful 158 runs off 98 balls, hitting 27 fours and 2 sixes. Additionally, Beth Mooney also contributed significantly, scoring a century with 106 runs off 84 balls.
In bowling, Alana King delivered a remarkable performance, taking 4 wickets for just 33 runs in her 10 overs. Georgia Wareham also claimed 2 wickets. Earlier in the series, Australia defeated India by 5 wickets in the second ODI and won the first match by 6 wickets.
