Udaipur, March 14: Hindustan Zinc, in collaboration with BYF, successfully organized a cattle rally and exhibition in the villages of Naya Lakshmipura and Sultanpura, part of the Rampura-Agucha cluster. The primary aim of this event was to educate livestock farmers about scientific animal management and advanced breed improvement. Approximately 70 enthusiastic farmers participated, showcasing the health and breed quality of their calves. They presented advanced breeds such as Holstein Friesian, Murrah, and Gir, highlighting the growing impact of modern animal husbandry.
Present at the event were notable figures including Gopal Sharma, Deputy Director of the Animal Husbandry Department, Bhuwanish Sharma, CSR Head, and other distinguished guests. Senior Veterinary Officer Dr. Mohammad Rafiq emphasized that such rallies inspire farmers to adopt modern techniques. He stressed the importance of timely vaccinations, deworming, and balanced diets.
A team of veterinary experts evaluated the calves based on their physical structure, bone strength, and overall health. They also provided farmers with advice on disease prevention and strategies for improved milk production in the future. This initiative is expected to strengthen the dairy business in the region. Local residents appreciated Hindustan Zinc‘s efforts through the Solutions Project to enhance rural livelihoods.
Since its inception in 2016, the Solutions Project by Hindustan Zinc has focused on advanced agricultural practices, aimed at increasing local farmers’ productivity and promoting sustainable farming methods. Through training programs, irrigation advice, and support in animal husbandry, farmers have seen improvements in their livelihoods. To date, over 140,000 farmers have benefited from this initiative.
