Jaipur, March 29: Rajya Sabha MP and BJP state president Madan Rathore stated that various schemes initiated by the central government play a crucial role in the overall empowerment of women in the country. The effective implementation of these schemes is particularly rapid in Rajasthan, benefiting a significant number of women.
He highlighted that under the ‘Mission Shakti’ initiative, sub-schemes like ‘Sambal’ and ‘Samarthya’ are being implemented to ensure women’s safety and empowerment. The ‘Sambal’ scheme includes programs such as One Stop Centers (OSC), the Women Helpline 181, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, and Nari Adalat, which provide safety, quick assistance, and justice to women. More than 900 One Stop Centers are operational across the country, having assisted millions of women.

– 2022-23: 420,612 women
– 2023-24: 203,066 women
– 2024-25: 935,626 women
Through the One Stop Centers, assistance was provided to 5,870, 6,591, and 8,092 women respectively, while thousands received help via the Women Helpline.
Additionally, the Prime Minister’s Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) has also significantly benefited many women. The numbers are as follows:
– 2022-23: 405,991 women
– 2023-24: 186,182 women
– 2024-25: 916,684 women
Rathore emphasized that these figures indicate a continuous increase in the impact of schemes related to women’s safety, health, and empowerment.
He further explained that the ‘Samarthya’ sub-scheme includes initiatives like Shakti Sadan, Sakhi Niwas, Palna (creche facility), and Sankalp Centers, which are strengthening women’s economic, social, and health empowerment.
Moreover, initiatives under the National Health Mission, such as the Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY), Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakram (JSSK), Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan, and Suman Yojana, are playing a vital role in improving maternal and child health.
