Jaipur, October 5: The results of the Rajasthan Youth Congress organizational elections have been announced. Abhishek Chaudhary emerged as the frontrunner for the position of state president, securing a total of 615,057 votes. Anil Chopra followed with 545,638 votes, while Rajkumar Parswal garnered 195,030 votes.
Abhishek Chaudhary received 69,419 more votes than Anil Chopra. However, receiving the highest number of votes does not automatically guarantee the presidency. According to the Youth Congress’s regulations, the top three candidates will be interviewed in New Delhi, after which the formal announcement of the new state president will be made.
Abhishek Chaudhary previously served as the state president of NSUI, while Anil Chopra has been a Congress candidate from Jaipur Rural. The competition has primarily been viewed as a contest between these two, with Rajkumar Parswal emerging as a significant third contender.
Votes for Top Three Candidates
| Candidate | Votes |
|---|---|
| Abhishek Chaudhary | 615,057 |
| Anil Chopra | 545,638 |
| Rajkumar Parswal | 195,030 |
Interviews in New Delhi, Followed by Announcement
The Youth Congress’s election process stipulates that merely obtaining the highest number of votes does not ensure the appointment of the state president. The top three candidates will be summoned for interviews in New Delhi, after which the central organization will formally announce the name.
Prior to the elections, Youth Congress officials had clarified that the president would be chosen after interviews with the top three candidates. In the previous election cycle, interviews were conducted after the vote count, leading to the final appointment.
Voting Concluded in May, Results Now Announced
The election process was notably lengthy. The announcement for organizational elections was made in February, with nominations open from February 22 to March 1. Online voting commenced on April 21 and continued until May 21. Consequently, the results were revealed approximately four and a half months after the voting concluded, despite earlier indications that results would be available in August.
In addition to the state president, elections were also held for district and other organizational positions through membership and online voting. Following the completion of voting, scrutiny was conducted, leading to the announcement of results.
All Top Candidates Designated as ‘Delegates’
The released list indicates that Abhishek Chaudhary, Anil Chopra, and Rajkumar Parswal are all designated as ‘Delegate for State President.’ This designation implies that the candidate with the highest votes does not automatically become president, and the final decision will be made after interviews in New Delhi.
Alongside the state president position, names for the vice president and state secretary roles have also been revealed. The list includes the votes and positions of all elected officials alongside their membership IDs.

| Pooja Bhargav | 159 | State Secretary (EC) |
| Rahul Khan | 122 | Vice President (OBC) |
The three delegates for the state president position received votes in the hundreds of thousands, while votes for other positions were in the thousands or fewer. This disparity arises because the president’s position is voted on by members across the state, while other positions are reserved for specific categories with a limited voter base.
Concerns Over Membership and Expenses
Questions have been raised regarding the membership campaign and associated expenses during this election. Concerns were voiced about the amount allocated per vote, and it was discussed that only those youth with substantial support and financial backing appeared to be leading in the race.
All eyes are now on the upcoming interviews in New Delhi and the subsequent formal announcement of the new state president for the Youth Congress.
