Severe Weather Warning in Multiple Districts
According to the IMD, heavy rainfall with thunderstorm activity is likely in Patna, Kaimur, Rohtas, Aurangabad, Arwal, and Jehanabad. Other districts that may experience similar weather include Buxar, Bhojpur, Siwan, Gopalganj, Lakhisarai, and Begusarai. In addition, districts such as Jamui, Banka, Munger, Madhepura, Purnia, Bhagalpur, and Katihar are also expected to receive significant rainfall.
The department has urged residents in these areas to take appropriate safety precautions, particularly during thunderstorms. Farmers and those living in low-lying areas are advised to remain alert for potential waterlogging or lightning risks.
Rising Temperatures Continue to Affect Some Areas
While rain has brought some cooling effects, certain regions of Bihar are still grappling with high temperatures. Patna recorded 1.5 mm of rainfall but still experienced a maximum temperature of 35.3°C. The highest temperature in the state was observed in Buxar, reaching 38.5°C. Other heat-affected areas include Sasaram, Chapra, Jiradei, Gopalganj, Motihari, and Valmiki Nagar, where temperatures may continue to rise by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius.
Monsoon Impact Beyond Bihar
The weather department also predicts rainfall in several northeastern and southern states. In the Northeast, Sikkim, Mizoram, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, and Nagaland are expected to witness heavy rainfall. The southern region of the country is also on alert, with forecasts indicating intense rain in Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.
Caution Advised
With changing weather patterns and monsoon conditions becoming increasingly unpredictable, the IMD continues to monitor the situation closely. Residents across the affected districts are advised to follow weather updates, avoid unnecessary travel during stormy conditions, and secure loose objects outdoors to prevent accidents.
