Kota, March 4 : New revelations have emerged after the arrest of BJP leader Prabhat Kashyap in connection with the firing and attack on a father and daughter in Kota’s Udyog Nagar area. Kashyap, who describes himself as a political worker and property dealer, has reportedly been involved in land-related disputes for a long time.

Following his arrest at Udyog Nagar police station, two new cases of land grabbing and fraud have surfaced against him. Apart from these, other cases related to robbery and assault are also registered against him at different places in Kota.
Local residents allege that Kashyap had formed a team of criminals from different areas who used to forcibly occupy valuable land and houses and threaten people to vacate them. He is also accused of selling plots using duplicate files, preparing fake property documents to obtain bank loans, and later defaulting on loan repayments.
Due to loan defaults, banks reportedly pasted notices on houses belonging to the actual owners, causing serious problems for many people.
A woman from Kota has alleged that Rajendra Singh, Ishwar Lal Saini, Prabhat Kashyap, Archana Kashyap, and a manager of Tiger Finance Pvt. Ltd. (Adani Housing Finance) conspired to transfer the registry of her purchased plot B-31 in Kashyap’s name by showing a different khasra number and then taking a loan against it. The matter came to light when a notice under the SARFAESI Act 2002 was pasted on the property. The complainant said she had also submitted a complaint at the SP office, but no action was taken. She registered the case in December 2025.
In another complaint, a man alleged that Kashyap introduced himself as a BJP leader and purchased his plot by paying ₹2 lakh in cash and giving cheques for the remaining amount. When the cheques were deposited in the bank, they bounced. When the complainant demanded his money, he was allegedly threatened, and construction work began on the plot after it was occupied.
The victim also claimed that Kashyap pressured him during the complaint process by saying he had strong connections with police officials. The complainant said he has still not received the remaining payment for the plot. This case dates back to January 1, 2020.
The family that was attacked in the firing incident has also alleged that Kashyap had earlier forcibly occupied a house belonging to an elderly man in the Shiv Sagar area and drove him out after assaulting him. They claimed that a complaint was submitted to senior officials when police allegedly failed to take action against history-sheeter Kamal Chauka.
Additional SP Dilip Saini said the investigation into Monday night’s firing incident has also revealed a new twist. Police inquiry suggests that Kashyap allegedly got history-sheeter Kamal Chauka from Jawahar Nagar police station to fire at him and then tried to portray himself as the victim by linking the incident to another gang.
