Jaipur, March 29: Concerns regarding the Rajasthan Government Health Scheme (RGHS) facilities at SMS Hospital have come to light after former Health Minister Dr. Raghu Sharma was required to make a cash payment for an MRI scan. He expressed his dissatisfaction with the hospital administration for not providing a cashless option.
On March 23, Dr. Sharma visited SMS Hospital for a routine check-up. After his doctor recommended an MRI, he was directed to the Dhanvantari Block to generate a TID under RGHS. This process left him frustrated.
Dr. Sharma raised serious questions about the system, stating that while he can walk, the procedure is extremely inconvenient for seriously ill patients, the elderly, or those on trolleys. He questioned whether such patients would also have to navigate this cumbersome process.
In response to his dissatisfaction, Dr. Sharma opted to have the MRI done at a private diagnostic center outside the hospital, paying ₹3,500 in cash. This incident has raised significant concerns about the implementation of cashless services and the actual functioning of the RGHS scheme at SMS Hospital.
