A Foldable for the Budget-Conscious
According to a report from South Korea’s SisaJournalE, the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE could launch in its home market for KRW 1 million, which translates to approximately $740 (USD), €645 (Europe), or £545 (UK). However, industry sources like GSMArena estimate a likely U.S. price tag of $799, significantly lower than the expected $1,099 price for the standard Galaxy Z Flip7.
This price gap not only underscores Samsung’s strategic shift but could also appeal to a broader audience eager to embrace foldable tech without breaking the bank.
Expected Pricing and Storage Options
In Europe and the UK, traditional regional pricing structures suggest the Flip7 FE could start at €799 and £699, respectively. While slightly higher than the South Korean pricing, these figures still position the FE model as an affordable alternative in the foldable segment.
Samsung is expected to offer the Flip7 FE in 128GB and 256GB storage options, while the regular Z Flip7 is likely to start at 256GB, extending to 512GB in higher-end variants.
Familiar Hardware, Budget Chip
While the Flip7 FE won’t feature top-tier silicon, it won’t be a slouch either. Depending on the region, the device could be powered by the Exynos 2400e or standard Exynos 2400 chip—a step below the Exynos 2500 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Elite chipsets expected in the flagship Z Flip7.
Spec leaks suggest the Flip7 FE might retain many internals from the Z Flip6, including a 3.4-inch external display, 6.7-inch internal foldable screen, and a 3,700mAh battery with 25W fast charging support. While these are not cutting-edge, they are likely enough to deliver a solid foldable experience for average users.
Expanding the Foldable Market
Samsung’s move to introduce a more accessible foldable is part of a larger effort to make the format mainstream. The FE (Fan Edition) series has historically balanced affordability with core flagship features, and bringing this concept to foldables is a clear sign of Samsung’s long-term confidence in the category.
The Galaxy Z Flip7 FE is expected to launch globally on July 10, 2025, and if the pricing strategy aligns with expectations, it could significantly boost foldable smartphone adoption across budget-conscious markets.
