Bhopal, April 10 Madhya Pradesh is witnessing a dramatic contrast in weather conditions as heatwaves and thunderstorms compete across the state. On Wednesday, regions like Chhindwara and Pandhurna experienced heavy rainfall and hailstorms, while temperatures soared past 44°C in others. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heatwave alert for Ujjain and Gwalior divisions today, while 17 districts are expected to receive rainfall.
Dual Weather Patterns Grip the State
According to the IMD, the unusual weather is due to an active Western Disturbance and a Cyclonic Circulation with an associated trough. This combination is causing extreme heat in some areas and rain accompanied by thunderstorms and hail in others.
