
New Delhi, March 9: The Indian cricket team has triumphed in the ICC T20 World Cup final held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday. This victory marks India’s second consecutive win of the World Cup title. Following the win, the team received an outpouring of congratulations.
Regarded as the “God of Cricket,” Sachin Tendulkar took to social media to express his joy, stating that winning the World Cup back-to-back is a historic achievement, as no other team has accomplished this in the T20 format. He praised the team for their remarkable performance and the unique brand of cricket they showcased. “Well done, Team India. Jai Hind!” he wrote.
Cricketer Virat Kohli also shared his excitement on X, highlighting the extraordinary victory in Ahmedabad. He noted that the explosive cricket played throughout the tournament was unmatched. Kohli commended the team’s resilience in tough situations and congratulated all players and management for reclaiming the title. “Jai Hind,” he added.
Former cricketer Yuvraj Singh celebrated the achievement on social media, emphasizing the character and determination required to defend the World Cup title. He praised the team’s impressive display under captain Suryakumar Yadav on the grand stage. Yuvraj highlighted the performances of Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan, and Abhishek Sharma in the final, noting how Sanju proved once again why he is a match-winner.
He further acknowledged Shivam Dube and Hardik Pandya for turning the game around whenever the team needed it. Jasprit Bumrah stood out, improving with every challenging situation, while Axar Patel delivered remarkable bowling, taking crucial wickets. Hardik, Arshdeep Singh, and Varun Chakravarthy maintained pressure throughout the match. Yuvraj also extended his congratulations to coach Gautam Gambhir and the entire support staff, recognizing the hard work behind such moments. “India is once again the world champion.”
Virender Sehwag humorously remarked about the pressure, stating, “What pressure? Our boys played as if it were a street match on Sunday.” This victory marks India’s third World Cup title in T20 history.
