With Rakshabandhan around the corner, the Madhya Pradesh government has announced a special festive gift for women across the state. Under the Ladli Behna Yojana, ₹250 will be credited directly into the accounts of 1.27 crore women beneficiaries as a Rakhi gift, ahead of the celebrations on 9th August.
₹250 Rakhi Gift for Every Ladli Sister
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav made the announcement during a recent public address, emphasizing the symbolic value of Raksha Bandhan as a celebration of the brother-sister bond.
“Just like a brother gives a gift to his sister, our government will send ₹250 to every Ladli Behna in the state before Rakhi,” said the CM.
This move is part of the government’s broader initiative to empower women and recognize their importance in society, especially during festivals that celebrate familial bonds.
Monthly Instalment to Increase from October
Currently, women enrolled in the Ladli Behna Yojana receive ₹1250 per month. In a major update, CM Yadav also announced that from October 2025, the monthly amount will be increased to ₹1500.
This declaration was made during a state-level event in Nalwa village, Ujjain, where the CM also disbursed the 26th instalment of the scheme to all 1.27 crore beneficiaries.
₹5000 Incentive for Working Women
In an added effort to promote women’s self-reliance, the Madhya Pradesh government will also provide a special incentive of ₹5000 to women who join garment factories or readymade clothing units. This financial aid will be separate from the Ladli Behna scheme and aims to support women stepping into the workforce.
The state government continues to expand the Ladli Behna Yojana not just as a welfare scheme but as a stepping stone toward financial independence and empowerment for women.
