Major Police Operation in Udaipur Leads to Over 500 Arrests

Udaipur, March 29: In a significant crackdown on crime, Udaipur police launched an extensive area dominance operation early Sunday morning. This initiative targeted wanted criminals and those involved in property-related offenses, resulting in the arrest of 502 individuals across 2,010 locations.

Under the guidance of District Superintendent of Police Dr. Amrita Duhan, the operation was executed simultaneously throughout the district. A total of 220 teams, comprising 1,044 police personnel and officers, were formed to carry out the operation. Teams, led by the Additional Superintendent of Police (City, Headquarters, and Kherwada), conducted actions in various police station jurisdictions.

During the operation, 98 permanent warrants and 12 arrest warrants were executed. Additionally, 408 previously charged criminals involved in theft, burglary, robbery, dacoity, and chain snatching were also investigated. The police registered 15 new cases under various laws and apprehended 10 suspects.

The operation included the arrest of six individuals in ten cases under the Excise Act, three individuals in three cases under the Arms Act, and one individual in a case under the NDPS Act. Furthermore, one suspect was arrested under other statutes.

The police restricted 207 criminals under the Indian Citizen Security Code 2023, while 22 wanted suspects were apprehended in routine cases. Action was also taken against several suspects under Section 129 and other provisions.

During the operation, police inspected electrical connections in homes. In the Surajpol police station area, four illegal connections were discovered, and further action is underway.

SP Dr. Amrita Duhan stated that such stringent actions against criminals will continue in the district. She also urged the public to report any crime or suspicious activities to the police, assuring that their identities will remain confidential.
