Chittorgarh, March 19: In a significant breakthrough against illegal drug trafficking, the Kanera police have achieved a major success under the special operation “Trinetra.” Authorities seized 43 kilograms and 170 grams of illicit opium from a Swift car and arrested one suspect. Additionally, five fake license plates were also recovered from the vehicle.
District Superintendent of Police Manish Tripathi reported that the operation was conducted under the guidance of the Inspector General of Police, Udaipur Range. A team led by Station House Officer Mahendra Singh, under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police Sarita Singh and Circle Officer Badri Lal, stopped a suspicious Swift car during a blockade in the Ghatarani area.
During the search, three plastic bags containing a large quantity of opium were discovered in the car, weighing a total of 43 kilograms and 170 grams. The presence of five fake license plates raises suspicions about an organized trafficking network.
The police arrested the suspect, identified as Manish (27), a resident of Salwa Kala in the Dangiyawas area of Jodhpur. A case has been registered against him under the NDPS Act, and an investigation is underway.
Authorities are now actively searching for other suspects linked to this trafficking network.
The police have urged citizens to report any suspicious activities or information related to drug trafficking immediately to the nearest police station, control room, or the narcotics helpline number 94604-25643.
