Patna, March 29: The resignation of Nitin Naveen, the BJP’s national president and MLA from the Bankipur constituency, has been postponed for now. Initially, it was reported that he would resign between 9 and 10 AM on Sunday, prompting Assembly Speaker Dr. Prem Kumar to return to Patna from Delhi. However, a sudden change in plans required Nitin Naveen to travel to Dibrugarh in Assam, leading to the postponement of his resignation.
In a conversation with the media, Assembly Speaker Dr. Prem Kumar stated that he received information about the resignation through BJP state president Sanjay Sarawagi. However, he later learned about the change in schedule. He mentioned that there is still ample time for the resignation and expressed hope that the process would be completed within the designated timeframe.
Dr. Prem Kumar also clarified that, according to Assembly rules, any MLA must be physically present in the House to submit their resignation. There is no provision for resigning virtually, meaning Nitin Naveen must appear in person to finalize his resignation.
