Chittorgarh, March 16: In response to directives from District Collector Alok Ranjan, a coordinated effort by the administration, the supply department, and the police has led to a continuous crackdown on illegal storage and use of domestic gas across the district.
Following complaints about illegal storage and use of domestic gas cylinders in the Rashmi sub-district, the vigilance team acted promptly. During their inspection, they seized two domestic gas cylinders and a refilling motor from Mukesh Lal Khatik at the Joganiya Kirana Store near Moroli Chauraha, proposing further action.
Similarly, inspections were conducted at the Rawatbhata Heavy Water Gas Agency and the Gangrar Indane Gas Agency in the Gangrar sub-district, where the physical stock of gas cylinders was verified. Gas agencies were instructed to adhere to the guidelines issued by the state government regarding gas distribution to consumers.
Currently, there are 28 gas agencies operating in the district, serving a total of 385,680 active domestic gas connections. There are 12,869 domestic gas cylinders available for distribution in the district. Officials confirmed that all gas agencies have an adequate stock of domestic gas cylinders, and consumers can regularly receive gas cylinders through online booking. Oil company officials have also ensured that the supply of domestic gas cylinders remains uninterrupted, urging the public not to heed any rumors.
For commercial use, the supply of 19-kilogram gas cylinders will only be provided to hospitals and educational institutions as needed. Additionally, all oil companies have issued mobile numbers, WhatsApp numbers, and mobile apps for consumer convenience in gas booking.
