Udaipur, March 18: The Rajasthan government’s Panch Gaurav scheme is hosting a 15-day swimming training camp at Maharana Pratap Sports Village. This initiative, led by the district collector, aims to enhance the skills of selected athletes through a block-level talent search. On the fourth day of the camp, participants received both technical training and theoretical knowledge.
District Sports Officer Dr. Mahesh Paliwal reported that trainers Ranveer Singh Ranawat, Sandeep Soni, Dharmveer Singh Ranawat, Anil Kumawat, Sunil Kumawat, and Sunil Nakwal provided systematic practice on freestyle arm action, kicking, breathing, floating, and starting techniques. Each swimmer’s individual errors were closely observed, allowing for corrective instructions that significantly improved their technical proficiency.
In the theoretical classes, Ranveer Singh Ranawat educated the swimmers about the structure, rules, and competitive levels of various swimming competitions. He also discussed career opportunities in swimming, the potential for building a future through sports, and detailed information about various sports schemes and scholarships run by the Rajasthan government.
The camp’s objective extends beyond merely developing swimming skills; it aims to provide athletes with a long-term perspective on sports. The participants have shown continuous enthusiasm and discipline, indicating the success of this initiative. Notably, the Panch Gaurav program is focused on promoting swimming as a key sport in Udaipur district, nurturing local talent to prepare them for excellence at state and national levels.
