Panchayat Elections: Nomination Process Underway in 3,314 Villages Across 16 Districts

Jaipur, October 23: The nomination process for the election of sarpanches and ward members in 3,314 gram panchayats across 16 districts is taking place today. This follows the completion of voting for district council and panchayat committee members in the first phase of the panchayat elections. A total of 28,422 ward members are also up for election. Voting will occur tomorrow from 7 AM to 6 PM, with results expected to be announced the same night. Elections for the deputy sarpanch will follow on Sunday.

Currently, administrators have been managing these gram panchayats. Votes will be cast using ballots, and counting will take place at the gram panchayat level, ensuring that results are available quickly after voting concludes.

Final Day for Nominations in the Third Phase

Tomorrow marks the last day for nominations for members of 17 district councils and 116 panchayat committees in the third phase. Nomination papers will be scrutinized on Saturday. The candidates for the second phase have already been finalized, with voting scheduled for October 28.

In the first phase, Jaipur district recorded a voter turnout of 68.29%, with the highest participation noted in Jhotwara at 73.65%. The counting for the district council and all phases of the panchayat committees will take place on November 20.
