Jaipur, April 6: Rajasthan’s Agriculture Minister, Dr. Kirori Lal Meena, has expressed his support for the High Court’s decision to cancel the Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment for 2021. He stated that he has been advocating for the cancellation of this recruitment from the beginning, and the court’s ruling is a step in the right direction.
He clearly stated, “I personally welcome this decision. The recruitment should have been canceled, and now its cancellation is the right choice.” He urged the government not to appeal this matter in the Supreme Court.
High Court Upholds Cancellation Decision
The Rajasthan High Court’s division bench recently dismissed appeals from selected candidates and the state government, thereby upholding the single bench’s decision. Previously, on August 28, 2025, the single bench had annulled the SI recruitment. Following this ruling, the government has the option to appeal to the Supreme Court.
Minister Comments on Crop Damage
Minister Dr. Kirori Lal Meena also addressed the recent rainfall and hailstorms that have damaged crops in the state. He announced that the government has issued orders for a survey to assess the damage.
He mentioned that farmers who have suffered a loss of 33% or more will be compensated according to the SDRF (State Disaster Response Fund) standards.
Government’s Decision Under Scrutiny
It will be crucial to see whether the state government accepts the High Court’s decision or opts to appeal to the Supreme Court. Meanwhile, the minister’s statements suggest that there may be pressure on the government not to pursue an appeal.
