Rajasthan Weather Update: Heatwave Continues in Several Cities, North Winds Bring Temporary Relief

Jaipur, April 19 Intense heatwave conditions are prevailing across many parts of RAJASTHAN, with Kota emerging as the hottest city on Friday, recording a maximum temperature of 44.3°C. However, northwesterly winds have brought some relief to residents as both day and night temperatures dropped by 1 to 6 degrees Celsius in several cities.

Drop in Temperatures Across the State

According to Radheyshyam Sharma, Director of the Meteorological Center in Jaipur, the state has started experiencing a decline in mercury levels due to winds from the north. This has resulted in marginal relief from scorching temperatures, especially during the night.

In Jaipur, medium-intensity winds persisted since morning, bringing down the maximum temperature by 2.1°C and the minimum by 0.6°C. The city recorded a high of 41.4°C and a low of 27.4°C. Further decline in temperature is expected in the coming days.

Humidity levels across the state ranged between 25% and 70%, and some parts of Bikaner division reported dust storms, while isolated areas saw light rainfall. The highest minimum temperature was observed in Pratapgarh at 31.1°C, indicating hot nights in parts of the state.

Forecast: Dust Storms and Relief from Heatwave

The weather department has forecast dust storms at 30–40 km/h in parts of Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions within the next 24 hours. Starting April 20, relief from heatwave conditions is expected across Rajasthan. However, isolated pockets may continue to witness hot daytime and nighttime temperatures.
