Jaipur, March 04, 2026 (Daily Udaipur): Acting on the directions of the ACB Headquarters, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) unit in Sirohi has arrested Laxmi Lal, Gram Vikas Adhikari of Gram Panchayat Anadara under Panchayat Samiti Revdar in Sirohi district, along with his son Akhilesh Kumar, while allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹1,00,000.

According to information shared by ACB Director General Govind Gupta, a complaint was received at the ACB Sirohi outpost stating that the accused was demanding ₹1 lakh from the complainant. The alleged demand was made for issuing construction approval on a residential plot in the name of the complainant’s wife at village Amla Kheda under Gram Panchayat Anadara. It was also alleged that the officer sought the bribe in exchange for not taking legal action after a previously constructed CC road of the Gram Panchayat was damaged during demarcation of the complainant’s residential plot.
Following verification of the complaint, a trap was laid under the close supervision of Deputy Inspector General Bhuvan Bhushan Yadav of ACB Range Jodhpur. The operation was led by Additional Superintendent of Police Rameshwarlal of ACB Sirohi.
During the action, the accused Laxmi Lal allegedly got the bribe amount of ₹1,00,000 collected through his son Akhilesh Kumar from the complainant for the legitimate work. After receiving the money, the son reportedly fled from the spot.
Subsequently, after detailed and careful questioning, the co-accused Akhilesh Kumar was traced with the assistance of the Gram Vikas Adhikari. Based on his disclosure, the bribe amount of ₹1 lakh was recovered from a vacant plot in their colony where it had been concealed.
The proceedings are being conducted under the supervision of ACB Additional Director General Smita Srivastava. The ACB has registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act and further investigation is underway.
