Traffic Violation Controversy Sparks Outrage in Udaipur

Udaipur, March 28: A shocking incident has raised questions about the functioning of the traffic system in Udaipur. Yashoda Paniya, the Executive Chairperson of the District Child Welfare Committee, received a ₹1,000 e-challan on her mobile phone while her scooter was parked at her office.

Upon learning of the fine, Paniya expressed her frustration with the traffic police and demanded an investigation into the matter. She stated that she was present in her office at the time the challan was issued, and her scooter was parked there as well.

Just two days prior, the new Superintendent of Police had conducted a meeting regarding traffic regulations, emphasizing stricter enforcement. However, the manner in which this challan was generated raises concerns.

Paniya mentioned that she was working in her office continuously from 10 AM to 4 PM on that Friday. During this time, she received a message stating that she had been fined for not wearing a helmet. This left her astonished, as she was not on the road at all.

She emphasized that she always wears a helmet while riding and adheres to traffic rules. This incident highlights a flaw in the system. Paniya also claimed that her scooter remained parked in the office premises, which can be verified by the CCTV footage available at the location.arked.
