Udaipur, March 28: A tragic incident unfolded in the Pulana area of Udaipur on Saturday morning when a body was discovered in the Ayad River, causing a stir in the community. Upon receiving the news, local residents quickly gathered at the scene, leading to a large crowd forming near the bridge.
Around 9:30 AM, locals reported seeing a body submerged in the riverbed. The police from Ambamata station arrived promptly to assess the situation. Eyewitnesses noted that the body was partially submerged—its head underwater while the feet were visible—raising various concerns regarding the circumstances of the death.
During this time, the wife and cousin of the missing man arrived at the scene while searching for their loved one. Their search turned into a heartbreaking reality as they identified the body as that of their own Rajkumar. The sight led to screams and mourning within the family.
The police took immediate action, retrieving the body and sending it to the hospital’s mortuary while preparing a report. Initial investigations suggest that the death may have resulted from drowning, but further inquiries are ongoing.
The deceased has been identified as 35-year-old Rajkumar, son of Shankarlal Gameti, a resident of the Havala Bhil Basti in Bhuwana. According to family members, Rajkumar left home around 7:30 PM on Friday, stating he was going to the potato factory, but he did not return.
Currently, the police are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter. The actual cause of death will be revealed following the post-mortem report. The discovery of this body in the Ayad River raises many questions that now hinge on the ongoing investigation.
