Udaipur Bans Open Meat Sales Without Glass Box
Udaipur's municipal corporation enforces new regulations on meat sales and electrical safety measures.
UDAIPUR, Oct 24: The municipal corporation of Udaipur has mandated that all meat sellers must display their products in glass boxes to maintain cleanliness in the city. Officials issued notices to licensed vendors, emphasizing compliance with sanitation standards.

Health officer Satyanarayan Sharma and health inspector Subhash Chandra Sharma provided the notices to meat vendors. They warned that inspections would continue, and violations would lead to actions against the offenders.
In a related initiative, Mayor Paras Singhvi and Municipal Commissioner Abhishek Khanna met with electricity department officials to discuss safety issues. They addressed concerns about branches from nearby trees interfering with electrical wires and the presence of around 600 derelict electric poles throughout the city.
During the meeting, Mayor Singhvi indicated that down-hanging wires pose serious risks to citizens and detract from the city’s appearance. He ordered immediate attention to these issues, including the removal of unauthorized wires connected to the poles.
The Mayor instructed that high power electric wires in the Udiapole area should be inspected and fixed promptly. A collaborative city tour involving municipal and electricity department officials was planned to address these problems efficiently.
Commissioner Khanna said that the presence of disorganized electric poles complicates street cleaning efforts, urging that these need to be rectified urgently. There was also an agreement that the electricity department will notify the municipal corporation before tree pruning, allowing for timely removal of the cut branches from the streets.
A coordinated effort is anticipated to improve both public safety and city cleanliness.
