Phillips, who was serving as a substitute fielder during the Titans’ game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, sustained the injury while attempting to stop a boundary. Although he hadn’t broken into the playing XI this season, his absence reduces depth in Gujarat’s bench strength, particularly in the all-rounder slot.
Back-to-Back Foreign Player Exits for Gujarat
This marks the second foreign player exit for the Gujarat Titans in this season. Earlier, South African pacer Kagiso Rabada departed the squad due to personal reasons. Now with Phillips out, the team will be forced to reassess their bench options as the tournament progresses into the crucial mid-stage.
