Anil Shakya Named First Recipient of Young Public Relations Officer Award
BIKANER–UDAIPUR, April 21 — The Public Relations and Allied Services Association of RAJASTHAN (PRASAR) announced its much-awaited state-level annual awards on Monday, honoring distinguished contributions in the field of public relations across Rajasthan.

Dr. Amar Singh Rathore, former Director of the Public Relations Department, has been chosen for the Shri Ghanshyam Goswami Smriti Lifetime Achievement Award. Dr. Rathore, a native of Churu, completed his education in Bikaner and served as the final director of the PR cadre before retirement. His career and leadership have significantly shaped the development of public relations practices in the state.
Honoring Excellence in Public Communication
Shri Rajendra Sharma from Jaipur, a retired Assistant Director of the Public Relations Department, has been selected for the Shri Kisan Kumar Vyas ‘Azad’ Memorial Public Relations Ratna Award. Sharma’s illustrious service spans various districts, Rajasthan Police, and the State Legislative Assembly. He has also been active in the theatrical arts for over five decades, making significant cultural contributions.
In a first, the Shri Dinesh Chandra Saxena Memorial Emerging Public Relations Officer Award has been awarded to Shri Anil Shakya, Public Relations Officer of Sri Ganganagar. His impactful work over the last three years has earned him recognition as a rising figure in public sector communication. The award was introduced in memory of late PR officer Dinesh Saxena and marks the beginning of a new category recognizing emerging talent.
Recognizing Service and Legacy
The final selections were made by a five-member jury on the occasion of National Public Relations Day. The panel included Dr. Hari Shankar Acharya (Vice President, PRASAR), Dr. Chandrashekhar Shrimali (National Career Counselor), Rajendra Bhargava (former librarian, PR Department), Gopal Joshi (IEC Coordinator, Zila Parishad), and Malkosh Acharya (Health Department).
Initiated in 2019, PRASAR’s awards ceremony has become a platform to honor retired and late PR professionals for their lifelong contributions and dedication to public service communication. This year’s awards celebrate both legacy and innovation in Rajasthan’s public relations landscape.
