In a major relief for EPFO (Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation) members, the government has increased the auto-settlement limit for advance claims from ₹1 lakh to ₹5 lakh. The move, announced by Union Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, will help EPF account holders access larger sums of money quickly during emergencies — without the delays of manual verification.

Under the new rules, EPFO members can now automatically withdraw up to ₹5 lakh from their PF accounts via advance claim in cases of urgent need — such as medical expenses, home repairs, or other emergencies.
This auto-approval process is designed to offer seamless and timely financial support to workers, helping them avoid delays at times when quick access to funds is most critical.
Earlier Rule
Until now, EPFO allowed auto-settlement for advance claims up to ₹1 lakh. Withdrawals of higher amounts required manual verification, which often led to longer processing times.
Now, with the revised limit set at ₹5 lakh, members can avoid this manual check — streamlining the process and ensuring faster disbursement of funds.
