Jaipur, May 12: The cancellation of the NEET-UG 2026 exam has been hailed as a triumph for diligent students by Rajasthan’s Agriculture Minister, Dr. Kirori Lal Meena. He emphasized that if the exam had not been annulled, the medical system could have seen the entry of “fraudulently selected doctors,” posing a serious threat to public safety.
Dr. Meena stated that the government’s decision, while difficult, was essential to prevent injustice against deserving students. He remarked, “It was crucial to stop the system from being filled with trash, which is why this decision was made.”
Recent investigations by the Rajasthan Special Operations Group revealed shocking facts. Out of 320 questions allegedly leaked, 120 were found to be identical to the actual exam paper. Upon discovering this, the government swiftly recommended the cancellation of the exam and referred the investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Dr. Meena issued a stern warning to the paper leak mafia, asserting that no matter where they are in the country, they will be brought to justice. “Whether in Kerala or Sikar, we will track them down,” he declared.
He urged students to refrain from any protests, assuring them that the government stands with them. Unlike previous administrations, where youth had to fight on the streets, this government is actively working to protect the futures of 2.2 million students.
In response to former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s comments, Dr. Meena labeled the Congress era as a “period of paper leaks,” claiming that 17 out of 18 recruitment exams during that time were compromised. He recounted his own struggles in filing FIRs, only to be detained instead of receiving assistance.
Dr. Meena reassured hardworking students that their efforts would not be in vain, stating that the CBI investigation would reach those who have been manipulating competitive exams and jeopardizing youth futures for years. He highlighted that the exposure of such fraud in a national-level exam was made possible due to Rajasthan’s vigilance, and the state government, along with investigative agencies, will ensure that future appointments are not made fraudulently.
This decision marks a significant shift in the educational landscape, aiming to restore integrity in examinations and uphold the interests of genuine candidates.
