Maruti Suzuki Faces Sales Slump in June 2025 as Budget Segment Struggles

New Delhi – Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest carmaker, reported a significant dip in sales for June 2025, signaling troubling times especially for its entry-level offerings. The company sold 1,67,993 units in June, registering a noticeable year-on-year and month-on-month decline. Domestic sales dropped to 1,18,906 units, which is 13.31% lower than June 2024 and 12.54% down from May 2025.

This translates to 18,257 fewer vehicles sold compared to the same month last year and 17,056 fewer units than in May 2025.

Maruti’s mini car portfolio, consisting of the Alto and S-Presso, saw sharp erosion in demand. Sales plummeted to 6,414 units, down from 9,395 units in June 2024. Even new models couldn’t generate enough traction to lift the segment.
