Hamirpur, March 20: Preparations are in full swing for the historic Maheshwari Dham fair at Bhedi Danda, located in the Jalalpur police area, in celebration of Chaitra Navratri. This long-standing fair attracts millions of devotees who come to seek blessings and fulfill their vows.
To assess the arrangements and security measures, administrative officials visited the site. Given the expected large crowds, the Tehsildar and Block Development Officer (BDO) conducted a joint inspection of the fairgrounds and riverbank. They meticulously checked the placement of CCTV cameras and police monitoring posts.
During the inspection, the BDO expressed frustration upon finding sanitation workers absent from their duties. Observing the litter and negligence, the BDO took immediate action by issuing orders to withhold a day’s pay for the absent sanitation staff. He emphasized that any lapse in cleanliness and convenience for the devotees would not be tolerated.
Meanwhile, fair committee president Harikishan Dwivedi reported that adequate arrangements for water and lighting for vendors have been made, ensuring that both vendors and devotees face no difficulties during the fair.
