Udaipur, March 15: The National Lok Adalat successfully resolved a staggering 547,520 cases, with awards totaling approximately ₹30.61 crore. This event was organized under the auspices of the National Legal Services Authority in New Delhi and the Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority in Jaipur, led by District and Sessions Judge Gyan Prakash Gupta. The Lok Adalat was formally inaugurated with a lamp-lighting ceremony by Judge Gupta, attended by judges, lawyers, bank insurance officials, and litigants from the Udaipur headquarters.
ADJ Kuldeep Sharma reported that the Lok Adalat processed a total of 547,520 cases, which included 23,779 pending cases across all courts, tribunals, and commissions, as well as 523,741 pre-litigation cases. He emphasized that once a case is resolved in the Lok Adalat, it is permanently settled, and no appeals can be made. Additionally, the court fees paid by the parties are refunded upon resolution. This process fosters a spirit of brotherhood and harmony among the litigants.
During the event, representatives from various organizations, including Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited, L&T Finance, Bajaj Finance, and several banks, were present. To ensure the successful execution of the National Lok Adalat, a total of 15 benches were established across Udaipur headquarters and its tehsil courts, as noted by ADJ Kuldeep Sharma.
