
Chittorgarh, March 16: The police of Nimbahera, Chittorgarh district, conducted a significant operation under “Operation Trinetra,” leading to the seizure of 2.6 kilograms of illegal opium from a Swift car. Two suspects were arrested during a routine checkpoint.
District Superintendent of Police Manish Tripathi reported that this action was taken following directives from Udaipur Range Inspector General Gaurav Srivastava as part of a special campaign against drug trafficking.
Under the guidance of ASP Sarita Singh and the supervision of Nimbahera Circle Officer Badri Lal Rao, the police team, led by Station House Officer Sanjay Sharma, set up a blockade in front of the police station. During this operation, they stopped a Swift car with Gujarat registration for inspection.
Upon searching the vehicle, officers discovered four plastic bags containing 2.6 kilograms of illegal opium. The police seized both the opium and the Swift car, arresting the two suspects on the spot.
The arrested individuals are 48-year-old Narayan Ram, son of Modaram Devasi, and 37-year-old Shankar Lal, son of Mesar Ram Devasi, both residents of Rebarion Ki Dhani, Karda Road, Bhinmal, in Jalore district. The police have filed a case against them and initiated further investigations.
The district police have urged citizens to report any suspicious activities or drug trafficking information to the nearest police station, control room, or the Narcotics Tip Helpline at 94604-25643.
