Udaipur, March 18: The district administration is taking strong measures against illegal gas storage and black marketing while ensuring a steady supply of domestic gas cylinders. Under the guidance of District Supply Officer (First) and trainee IAS officer Ms. Srishti Dabas, the vigilance team of the supply department conducted a significant operation in the Nehru Bazaar area on Tuesday. During this operation aimed at curbing illegal gas refilling and hoarding, a total of eight illegal gas cylinders were seized.
The team included Enforcement Inspector Kaluram Ninama, Special Meena, Dr. Komal Singh Solanki, and Additional Administrative Officer Rajendra Singh Ranawat, who inspected various commercial establishments in Nehru Bazaar and Meenapada, where irregularities were found.
Four domestic gas cylinders were recovered from the upper premises of Mogra Enterprises located in Nehru Bazaar. Upon inquiry, the operator could not present any valid documents related to these cylinders. Similarly, Sunil Sales was found to have one domestic gas cylinder and a five-kilogram commercial cylinder stored illegally. Additionally, two domestic gas cylinders were seized near the Rajhans Enterprises shop.
In response to these violations, the department has initiated legal action against all involved firms under Sections 3/7 of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955. The District Supply Officer has made it clear that such campaigns against illegal gas storage and refilling will continue in the future.
