Jaipur, April 14: The political landscape in Rajasthan is heating up as former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot addresses multiple issues during a media interaction at his residence in Jaipur. He targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), responding to recent comments made by former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje. Gehlot stated that Raje did not need to clarify her statements, as the public understands her context and sentiments well.
Gehlot also questioned the working style of BJP state president Madan Rathore, indirectly revealing the ongoing internal strife within the party. He remarked that it is inappropriate for a state president to repeatedly declare who will become the chief minister. Such significant decisions should be made at the top leadership level, involving figures like the Prime Minister or central leadership.
In a pointed critique, Gehlot noted that the party that once accused Congress of internal discord is now grappling with its own disputes. He highlighted that various BJP leaders are making conflicting statements, further weakening the party’s position, which is becoming increasingly evident.
Gehlot pointed out the lack of “control” within the BJP organization, suggesting that when pressure mounts from the top, leaders tend to make inconsistent statements. While he described Madan Rathore as a good person, he raised concerns about his role in organizational leadership. Gehlot emphasized that such political instability is detrimental to Rajasthan’s development and democratic integrity.
Additionally, Gehlot clarified his comments regarding international issues, expressing concern about India’s global image. He stated that when conflicts arise globally and peace is advocated by countries like Pakistan, it is alarming for India, a nation historically recognized for its principles of non-violence and peace. He asserted that India should have established itself as a “Vishwaguru” and lead global peace efforts.
Finally, Gehlot expressed confidence that Congress remains united in Rajasthan and believes that, following the state’s tradition, the next government will be formed by Congress. His statements have once again stirred political activity in the state.
