Mumbai, April 19: A significant and historic change has emerged in Bihar’s political landscape, with Samrat Chaudhary being elected as the leader of the BJP and subsequently the NDA legislative party. His ascension to the position of Chief Minister is now almost certain. Chaudhary has already met with the Governor at the Raj Bhavan and formally presented his claim to form the government.
The oath-taking ceremony is scheduled for April 15 at Lok Bhawan, marking the first time a Chief Minister from the Bharatiya Janata Party will take office in Bihar. This transition is viewed as a crucial turning point in the state’s politics.
An interesting political scene unfolded during the NDA meeting held in the Assembly’s Central Hall. Nitish Kumar himself proposed Samrat Chaudhary‘s name, expressing his support by draping a garland around him. During this moment, he encouraged the legislators to applaud, signaling their acceptance of Chaudhary’s leadership. In response, Chaudhary touched Kumar’s feet to seek blessings, showcasing a display of political camaraderie between the two leaders.
After being chosen as the leader of the legislative party, Samrat Chaudhary stated that he learned politics from Nitish Kumar and gained valuable experience working alongside him. He emphasized that his goal is to further develop Bihar and advance Kumar’s vision of a ‘prosperous Bihar.’
Prior to this, Nitish Kumar resigned from the Chief Minister’s position. He arrived at the Raj Bhavan in the same vehicle as Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Chaudhary to submit his resignation to the Governor. Following his resignation, he took to social media platform X to express his commitment to fully support the new government and wish for a bright future for the state. This power shift in Bihar not only indicates a change in political equations but also signifies the beginning of a new leadership style and administrative priorities. All eyes will be on the decisions made by the new government in the coming times.
