Jaipur, June 13: The farmers’ conference organized by the BJP Kisan Morcha in Jaipur has sparked political debate. Congress has raised questions regarding the presence of Rajasthan Governor Haribhai Parthibhai Bagde and Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat, while Agriculture Minister Kirorilal Meena was notably absent. Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasra criticized the BJP and the state government on social media platform X.
Dotasra stated that the attendance of two governors at a political party’s event raises serious questions about constitutional propriety and impartiality. He emphasized that the position of governor is meant to be neutral under the Constitution, and using such positions for political events is not in line with democratic traditions. He accused the BJP of exploiting constitutional offices for political gain.
Furthermore, Dotasra highlighted the absence of Agriculture Minister Kirorilal Meena as a significant issue. He questioned why the state’s agriculture minister did not attend an event focused on farmers’ interests and agricultural reforms. Dotasra also asked if the government was distancing itself from the agriculture minister following recent controversies and allegations of corruption. He urged the government to clarify its stance on this matter.
Notably, the conference featured Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, senior BJP leaders, and various public representatives. Discussions at the event centered on promoting natural and organic farming, increasing farmers’ income, and encouraging innovations in the agricultural sector. However, the absence of Agriculture Minister Kirorilal Meena remained a hot topic in political circles.
Political analysts believe that the opposition is attempting to capitalize on the agriculture minister’s absence at such a crucial event. As of now, the BJP has not issued any official response regarding this issue. It is anticipated that political rhetoric surrounding this matter will intensify in the coming days.
