Udaipur MLA Calls Khanjipeer, Ayad ‘Mini Pakistan’

Udaipur, August 25, 2026: Udaipur City MLA Tarachand Jain made a controversial remark about the Khanjipeer and Ayad areas, referring to them as “Mini Pakistan” during a BJP workers’ conference in Udaipur’s rural assembly constituency.

Addressing the conference, Jain said there are two routes to enter Udaipur city, one through Khanjipeer and the other through the railway station. He claimed that Khanjipeer had become a “Mini Pakistan” where criminals used to seek shelter. He said the situation has now improved and a DSP office has started functioning in the area.

Jain further claimed that if crime data of the past 10 years were obtained from the Khanjipeer police post, it would account for 25 per cent of crime. Referring to the Ayad area, he said similar conditions existed there earlier but the situation was now improving.

The BJP workers’ conference was held at Ashish Vatika in Sector 14 and continued from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm.

Mentions Meeting with Governor Kataria

Jain also referred to his conversation with Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria. He said he had gone to welcome Kataria as part of protocol and that the Governor praised the work at Mukherjee Chowk, saying that work which had earlier seemed impossible had been completed.

Claims BJP Will Win Key Wards

On the upcoming municipal corporation elections, Jain targeted the Congress and claimed that its leaders would not be able to cross even the double-digit mark in the city. He said Congress leaders could not confidently name even two wards where they were certain of winning.

Jain said the BJP would register strong victories in all major wards.

Regarding ticket selection, Jain told party workers that candidates were being selected after considering the views of party workers and representation of different communities. He said no one would be treated unfairly.
