Vishvendra Singh Questions Ticket Distribution in Deeg After Congresss Poor Performance

Bharatpur, October 1: Former Cabinet Minister Vishvendra Singh has raised concerns regarding ticket distribution within the Deeg Congress, following the recent urban body elections. On October 1, he targeted Deeg Congress District President Rajiv Chaudhary through a social media post, questioning the vote counts received by Congress candidates in five wards.

Singh claimed that out of the 40 wards in Deeg, the district president allocated tickets for five wards, and due to poor selection, the candidates performed dismally. He further alleged that instead of reviewing the results, the district president was praising the state Congress president.

Vote Counts by Ward

Ward Congress Candidate Votes Received
1 Hemraj Saini 243
10 Priyakesh 14
12 Bachhu Singh Meena 56
34 Rajendra Prasad 86
37 Sohan Lal Bharti 10

These figures were shared by Vishvendra Singh to support his claims regarding the ticket distribution.

Election Results: Congress Left Empty-Handed in Deeg

According to the election results, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 16 wards, while independent candidates secured 24 wards in the Deeg Municipal Council. Congress did not win a single ward.

This means that the five wards whose votes Singh counted are part of a council where Congress failed to open its account. The party’s performance was weak across other local bodies in Deeg district as well, with Congress winning only 4 wards out of a total of 180 in six local bodies.

Vishvendra Singh’s Previous Criticism

Just a day earlier, Vishvendra Singh had criticized Bharatpur District President Dinesh Soopa, Deeg District President Rajiv Chaudhary, and State President Govind Singh Dotasra through two posts. He accused both district presidents of favoring their allies over genuine party workers, while the state leadership failed to hold them accountable.

Singh emphasized that Bharatpur, being the home district of the Chief Minister, should have seen a stronger Congress presence. He deemed the continued tenure of both district presidents detrimental to the organization.

Youth Congress Responds

In response, Yashveer Soora, the acting state president of the Rajasthan Youth Congress, stated that senior leaders should also reflect on their roles before placing the entire blame on district presidents for the losses.

He pointed out the failure to establish a Congress board in the Bharatpur mayoral election and in Deeg-Kumher, questioning Vishvendra Singh’s involvement, especially since Deeg-Kumher is his own assembly constituency.

Ongoing Controversy

Rajiv Chaudhary, the Deeg District President, also known locally as Rajiv Kumher, has previously faced criticism from Vishvendra Singh. In August, he questioned Chaudhary’s leadership style when his name was omitted from the list of election in-charges.

As of now, there has been no formal response from either the district president or the state Congress leadership regarding Singh’s latest allegations.
