ACB Raids 19 Locations Linked to Rajasthan PHED Engineer in Massive Corruption Probe

JAIPUR — April 20, 2025: In a major crackdown on corruption, the Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) launched simultaneous raids at 19 premises linked to Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) Superintendent Engineer Ashok Jangid, across six districts of the state including Jaipur, Kotputli, Ajmer, Tonk, Udaipur, and Banswara.

ACB Raids

The operation, which began early Sunday morning, involves over 250 officers across two dozen teams. It follows an investigation revealing that Jangid had allegedly amassed assets worth ₹11.5 crore, which is 161% more than his known income from government service.

Multiple Properties, Mining Leases, and Luxury Assets Uncovered

The ACB found that Ashok Jangid, along with his wife Sunita Sharma and son Nikhil Jangid, is the owner of 54 immovable properties spread across Rajasthan, including houses, shops, farmhouses, mineral leases, and commercial land parcels in:

  • Jaipur

  • Paota (Kotputli)

  • Sreemadhopur

  • Mojmabad

  • Udaipur

  • Ajmer

  • Malpura

  • Shrimohangarh (Jaisalmer)

Among the most notable assets are 5 mineral leases in Nikhil Jangid’s name, operated under the firm UN MINERALS in Udaipur, which is equipped with high-value mining machinery like crushers, Poclain machines, L&T equipment, blasting tools, and dumpers — indicating massive investment in heavy infrastructure.

Suspicious Financial Transactions & Education Expenses Tracked

The investigation revealed:

  • 22 bank accounts linked to the family, containing a total of ₹21 lakh

  • Over ₹30 lakh spent on the children’s coaching, schooling, and higher education

  • Ownership of high-value real estate and commercial operations

Key locations being raided include:

  • Residential bungalow in Gulmohar Lane, Jaipur

  • Shops in Bani Park and Bindayaka

  • Residences and farmhouses in Paota

  • Mining sites in Buchara and Sreemadhopur

  • UN MINERALS firm’s premises in Udaipur

  • Properties and mineral leases in Ajmer, Malpura, and Banswara

In addition to physical raids, official documents are being seized from Registrar offices and Mining Department locations.

ACB Confirms Ongoing Operation

According to the ACB, these searches are still underway and more revelations are expected. Officials have hinted at potential links to benami transactions and shell entities, which may be uncovered as the operation progresses.

This case could emerge as one of the biggest property disproportion cases in Rajasthan’s PHED department to date.
