BJP Celebrates Victory in Kota Municipal Elections, CM Calls for Panchayat Poll Preparations

Kota, September 29: Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma congratulated the mayor, deputy mayor, councilors, and party workers at a ceremony in Kota, celebrating the BJP’s victory in the municipal elections. He attributed this electoral success to the hard work of the party workers, the strength of the organization, and continuous engagement with the public.

The Chief Minister urged party members to prepare vigorously for the upcoming Panchayati Raj elections. He emphasized that connecting with the public and addressing their issues leads to such positive outcomes. According to him, after the municipal elections, the organization must remain active at the booth level in rural areas.

‘78 Percent of Promises Fulfilled’

While discussing the government’s performance, the Chief Minister claimed that the state government has fulfilled 78 percent of its promises from the manifesto in less than three years. He noted that the impact of delivering on these commitments was evident in the municipal election results.

He also highlighted the acceleration of development projects under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, reiterating that 78 percent of the manifesto promises have been met, a claim he made at a recent event as well. These figures are based on the government’s own assessments.

Four Water Agreements Including Ramjal Setu

Regarding water projects, the Chief Minister mentioned that Rajasthan would benefit from four out of ten major interstate water agreements made in the country. He stated that approximately ₹1 lakh crore is allocated for the Ramjal Setu project, with around ₹41,000 crore worth of work currently in progress.

He also referred to the Yamuna water agreement, the Narmada water agreement, and the Kishau multipurpose project, asserting that these initiatives will be crucial for providing water to the state’s population.

According to the state’s economic review for 2025-26, the detailed project report (DPR) for the revised Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal link (Ramjal Setu) project in Rajasthan is valued at ₹89,644 crore and was submitted to the Central Water Commission in July 2025. This project will supply drinking and industrial water to 17 districts in eastern Rajasthan, with the construction of the Navnera barrage and the Isarda dam already completed.
