BJP Protests Against Kharges Comments in Jaipur, Effigy Burned

Jaipur, October 26: In response to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP workers staged a protest in Jaipur on Monday, culminating in the burning of Kharge’s effigy. Led by BJP state general secretary Shravan Singh Bagri, the activists attempted to march from the state office towards the Congress office but were stopped by police at the Chomu House Circle due to barricades. The demonstration included state officials, along with members from the youth wing, women’s wing, and SC wing of the party.
Protesters shouted slogans against Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party, demanding a public apology from the Congress leadership. They also expressed their anger by kicking the effigy of Kharge.
Bagri stated that while political dissent is a part of democracy, using derogatory terms like “Modi ka baap bhi jayega” towards someone in a constitutional position is disgraceful. He emphasized that disagreements should be addressed through reasoned dialogue and ideas, rather than personal insults. BJP state minister Dr. Apoorva Singh echoed this sentiment, insisting that Rahul Gandhi, Kharge, and the entire Congress should apologize for the comments.
Prominent figures at the protest included BJP office in-charge Mukesh Parikh, media in-charge Pramod Vashisth, women’s wing president Rakhi Rathore, youth wing president Shankar Gora, and Jaipur city district president Amit Goyal.
Kharge’s controversial comment arose during a speech in Patna when someone from the crowd stated that Modi would not leave office. Congress defended Kharge, claiming that a BJP worker had insulted Kharge’s late father during the speech.
