Jaipur, October 21: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has officially announced its new national team for the Youth Wing (Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, BJYM) on Tuesday. Among the notable appointments are two representatives from Rajasthan. Himanshu Sharma, the former state president of the Youth Wing, has been appointed as a national minister, while Devvrat Singh Rajawat has been named the national co-treasurer.
The announcement was made under the directives of BJP National President Nitin Naveen and bears the signature of Dr. Hemang Joshi, the national president of the Youth Wing and a Member of Parliament. All appointments are effective immediately.
Himanshu Sharma has previously served as the state president of the Youth Wing in Rajasthan. He was present when Shankar Gora took over the position of state president in January. His new role as a national minister includes one of the seven ministerial positions allocated to Rajasthan. Devvrat Singh Rajawat’s appointment as national co-treasurer complements the role of the national treasurer, which has been assigned to Vineet Vats Tyagi from Uttar Pradesh.
The new team comprises a total of 31 appointments, including 19 national office bearers: seven national vice-presidents, three national general secretaries, seven national ministers, one treasurer, and one co-treasurer. The remaining 12 individuals will oversee responsibilities related to national office, policy and research, media, and social media.
Among the national vice-presidents, two are current legislators: Shagun Parihar from Jammu and Kashmir and Soumen Karfa from West Bengal. The three national general secretaries include Arpita Aparajita Badjena from Odisha, Harsh Vardhan Singh from Uttar Pradesh, and Mitt Vamshi Krishna from Andhra Pradesh.
The list features names from 19 states and union territories. Bihar and Delhi have the highest representation, with four names each. Uttar Pradesh and Telangana each have three representatives, while Rajasthan and Gujarat contribute two names. The four names from Delhi are all in the roles of in-charge or co-in-charge, indicating no national office bearers from Delhi.
