UDAIPUR, March 9, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran): A major theft was reported at the famous Khatushyamji Temple located in the Ladana area of Mavli tehsil, where miscreants broke open the temple lock late at night and stole cash of more than ₹8 lakh from the donation box.

The incident has created panic in the area, and villagers have expressed strong anger against the police administration. CCTV cameras installed in the temple captured three thieves stealing money from the donation box.
Temple priest Rahul Sharma said that when he reached the temple in the morning as usual, he was shocked to find the gate lock broken. The donation box inside the temple was also found damaged, and the cash offerings made by devotees were missing. He immediately informed the villagers, after which a large number of people gathered at the temple premises.
The entire incident was recorded in the temple’s CCTV cameras. After examining the footage, it was found that four miscreants had entered the temple late at night. Three of them can be clearly seen breaking the donation box and calmly filling the cash into a sack.
Meanwhile, their fourth accomplice was standing outside the temple to keep watch and alert the others in case of any movement. The activities seen in the footage indicate that the thieves had arrived with proper planning.
Villagers said that incidents of theft have increased in the area in recent times, but the Fatehnagar police have not taken any concrete action. They alleged that due to weak patrolling and a slow police response, criminals are committing such crimes without fear.
After receiving information, the police reached the spot, inspected the site and seized the CCTV footage for investigation. Villagers warned that if the accused are not arrested soon and the stolen money is not recovered, they will launch a major protest.
