Chennai, February 27: In the Indian Super League (ISL) 2025-26, Chennaiyin FC will face Odisha FC at Kalinga Stadium this Sunday. Chennaiyin is on the hunt for their first victory of the season. Last season, they secured a memorable win against Odisha, thanks to two goals from Farukh Chaudhary.
Coach Clifford Miranda expressed confidence in his team’s performance for this match. He stated, “I was fortunate to have worked with Odisha FC and helped them win the title. I have great memories from my time there and hold immense respect for the club and their coach. Their recent performance against Inter Kashi was very positive and impressive. This upcoming match will be quite challenging. If my team does not match their determination, courage, and enthusiasm, we could find ourselves in trouble.”
This match presents a golden opportunity for Chennaiyin FC to open their account in ISL 2026. Despite a rocky start to the campaign, Coach Miranda remains optimistic about the team’s capabilities. He believes that both he and the players are confident about the team’s direction.
He added, “When you start winning, it always feels positive. It gives you a good sense about yourself and your hard work. You start to feel that you are on the right path. However, I can assure you that even after losses, the players and I still feel we are progressing in the right direction. As I mentioned before, this is a process, and I believe we are on the right track. Winning is essential because it boosts confidence and gives you the courage for the next challenge.”
The upcoming match against Odisha will mark Chennaiyin FC’s third consecutive away game in ISL 2026.
