Udaipur, April 27, 2026 : Renowned cardiac thoracic surgeon Dr Sudhir Srivastava stressed that excellence is essential in the medical profession, stating that true success is measured by the number of lives a doctor is able to save through experience and skill.
He was addressing the second convocation ceremony of American International Institute of Medical Sciences as the chief guest. He highlighted the growing demand for surgical robots in India and said that more than 200 installations of SS Innovations’ Mantra surgical robots have already been completed across various locations, including in cardiac surgeries. He added that passion and innovation are driving India’s progress in the medical field.
Guest of honour Dr Rahul Jain, Principal of RNT Medical College, told students that a medical degree is not just a certificate but their identity. He advised them to listen carefully to patients, give them time, and ensure the best possible treatment.
Chairman of the institute, Dr Kirti Jain, emphasised that while earning is important, professionals should choose work that brings satisfaction and peace. He said excellence should always serve humanity and cited Dr Srivastava’s contribution of over 1,400 robotic surgeries and his role in advancing surgical robotics in the country.
During the ceremony, degrees were awarded to 150 undergraduate and 85 postgraduate medical students. Several dignitaries, including senior academicians and medical professionals, were present on the occasion and administered the oath of medical ethics.
The event witnessed an enthusiastic atmosphere, with students in graduation gowns celebrating the milestone alongside their families. The ceremony turned into a proud and emotional moment for parents, with many capturing the occasion and cherishing the achievement of their wards.
