Focus on Progress: Panchayati Raj Department Review Meeting Held in Udaipur

Udaipur, March 31: Education and Panchayati Raj Minister Mr. Madan Dilawar conducted a divisional review meeting of the Panchayati Raj Department during his visit to Udaipur on Tuesday. The meeting, held in the District Council auditorium, focused on a thorough evaluation of the department’s key initiatives. Officials were instructed to ensure effective implementation at the grassroots level.

Minister Dilawar reviewed various schemes in detail, including the Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural), Annapurna Rasoi (Rural), Atal Gyan Kendra, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Swamitva Yojana, and the Chief Minister’s Jan Swavalamban Yojana. He emphasized that the benefits of these schemes must reach the last mile, stating that any negligence would not be tolerated. The meeting was attended by legislators Tarachand Jain, Phoolsingh Meena, former Deputy District Chief Pushkar Teli, and several other representatives. District Council CEOs, ACEOs, BDOs, and assistant engineers from all districts in the division were also present. Initially, District Council CEO Riya Dabi welcomed the Minister and the representatives.

Strict Instructions on Overnight Stays
Minister Dilawar issued clear directives to officials, stressing the importance of spending time in the field to understand the actual conditions in villages. He mandated that officials must spend at least four nights per month in villages. They were instructed to remain in the villages from 6 PM to 6 AM to accurately assess rural issues and arrangements. He stated that the active presence of officials at the grassroots level is key to the success of the schemes. During their overnight stays, officials should engage with villagers to swiftly resolve their issues. He also directed officials to be present at public hearings at the village and block levels to provide relief to the public and to regularly organize scheduled meetings to prepare proposals for approvals.

Strict Orders to Remove Encroachments
Minister Dilawar clearly stated that encroachments on cremation grounds, playgrounds, ponds, and public pathways in villages must be removed strictly. He instructed officials to act according to regulations without any pressure to ensure the protection of public resources.

Emphasis on Cleanliness and Waste Management
He urged for strengthening the regular cleanliness system in villages, stating that waste collection must be organized efficiently. Special attention should be given to waste segregation, and personnel engaged in cleanliness work should be ensured wages above the minimum wage.

Priority for Landless Families
The Minister directed that landless families, including nomadic and semi-nomadic groups, should be prioritized for land allotment or pattas. He stressed the need for concrete steps for the social and economic empowerment of these groups.

Accountability and Results Focus
During the meeting, the Minister emphasized the importance of accountability in the effective implementation of schemes. He instructed officials to regularly monitor each scheme and achieve targets within the set timelines. A progress report on departmental activities was presented, and challenges in implementing various schemes were discussed. The Minister made it clear that any delay in accelerating rural development, as per the government’s intent, would not be tolerated. He also urged all offices to become polythene-free.

Launch of Admission Festival Poster
Earlier, Minister Madan Dilawar unveiled the poster for the new admission festival campaign by the Sanskrit Education Department. On this occasion, Udaipur Rural MLA Phool Chand Meena, social worker Pushkar Teli, and the Minister’s special officer from the Sanskrit Education Department, Abhay Singh Rathore, were present. The poster provides detailed information about the facilities available to students upon enrollment in schools.
