Gahlot Challenges CM Sharma: Provide Evidence or Apologize Within 24 Hours

Jaipur, November 4: Former Chief Minister Ashok Gahlot has issued a challenge to current Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, demanding that he present evidence for his allegations or apologize within 24 hours. This statement comes after Sharma accused Gahlot of exploiting farmers and selling fake fertilizers and seeds during a rally in Jodhpur on Tuesday.

In response, Gahlot took to social media, stating, “The baseless claims made by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma in Jodhpur have deeply pained me. He has spread false accusations against me, and I expect him to provide full details, including facts and documents, to both me and the public. Otherwise, he should apologize within 24 hours.”

Gahlot further criticized Sharma, suggesting that the Chief Minister’s behavior indicates he is feeling guilty and has crossed the limits of acceptable language. He accused Sharma of attempting to mislead the public to divert attention from the allegations.

He also pointed out that Sharma, as the chairman of the board that granted special exemptions to Ananta Company, should clarify his role in the matter. Gahlot questioned why the investigation into IAS Shikhar Agarwal’s case has not been handed over to the CBI, instead of being managed by the ACB under Sharma’s authority.

Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasra also weighed in, questioning why Sharma remained silent for three years if he had substantial evidence against Gahlot. He emphasized the need for accountability and transparency in the ongoing investigations, urging the government to disclose the final outcomes.

During his rally in Jodhpur, Sharma had claimed, “I am the son of a farmer, and you are the son of a magician. Your fertilizer and seed shop has a history of exploiting farmers.” He alleged that Gahlot’s warehouse had been raided for selling counterfeit products.

The controversy surrounding Shikhar Agarwal involves allegations that his family purchased 40 villas and cottages from Goyal Fashions Private Limited for 6.15 crore rupees and then leased them back to the same company for 1.80 crore rupees annually. The government has already issued an APO against Agarwal, and the ACB initiated a preliminary inquiry on October 31, with an investigation freeze on the company’s incentives until further notice. Agarwal is required to respond to a show-cause notice by November 6.
